We are looking for a lighting technician/specialist to join our team and assist with providing knowledge, practical skills and support for our events and projects.

The role is full-time and will be based at our premises in Edinburgh. Work will also take place at various venues and sites around the UK – some of which may require overnight stays. Normal hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm. As is the norm for this industry, a good degree of flexibility is required for this type of role including out-of-hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance on stage and entertainment lighting  and related equipment to our staff and customers.
  • Design of lighting systems for various event and performance types.
  • Design of appropriate support, rigging and electrical supplies for lighting systems.
  • Creation of specifications and quotations for jobs/projects.
  • Setup and operation of lighting, rigging and power distribution for hires and events.
  • Programming of lighting for shows/events.
  • Preparation, delivery, collection and check-in of equipment for hires.
  • Equipment maintenance and testing.
  • Assisting with installation projects.
  • Assisting other disciplines for customer projects and events.

Communication skills should be strong and attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and a ‘go the extra mile’ attitude are essential to the role.

Candidates should be ‘self-starters’ and are expected to keep themselves up-to-date with current technologies and products relevant to their role.

While the primary role is as a lighting specialist, it is expected that candidates will assist with other technical disciplines that the Company provides to our customers. Experience in other technical disciplines such as sound, video, rigging or electrics will be advantageous to applicants but relevant training will be provided as required.

A full UK driving license is also an essential requirement.

Salary : up to £31,200 pro rata – dependent on experience.
